Gallery (Part 1)

Much thanks to Andy Ames, Tim Ames, Gail Donnelly, Rosie Fitts, the late great Tim Griswold, Dave Harrison, Ross Nichols, Jerry Rig, Sven-Erik Seaholm, THE BUMP, Celeste Wells, Mike Zacchino and everyone else who took these pics!

1975: Buddy playing "Smoke On The Water" with his groovy high school garage band, Carnage.

1976: Graduation pic: Grunge before his time.

1979: Slick-as-shit in a vinyl Sanford And Son hat and unbuttoned shirt, Buddy attempts to seduce B.B. King.

1980: Cleverly disguised as Bruce Springsteen, Buddy weasels his way into Cab Calloway's hotel room for yet another celebrity liaison.

1982: The Rockin' Roulettes vie for "Worst '80s Hair" honors.

1983: First ever Beat Farmers flyer, featuring Jerry Raney in his Howdy Doody phase.

1984: The Beat Farmers unplugged at Bodie's. Buddy shoots Rolle a disapproving glare over his choice of amplifier ornamentation.

1984: One of Country Dick's amusing Farmer calendars, which soiled the tables at many a local dive bar.

1985: The Beat Farmers posing proudly with our first tour vehicle.

1985: "Tales Of The New West" record release party in Hollywood. The motley assemblage includes Dave Alvin, Dwight Yoakam, Skid Roper and various members of the Plimsouls, Long Ryders and Cruzados.

1985: The Farmers after a gig in Wichita. Dick's expression relays his displeasure of backstage snuggle-fests.

1985: My fave pic of Dick, in all his damp 'n' musty glory.

1987: The Jacks attempt to out-do Cheap Trick in the "Ridiculous Image" sweepstakes.

1988: The Jacks on tour somewhere or other.

1991: The "Guttersnipes 'n' Zealots" touring band flashes some pink. And brown. Mmmmm….who could resist?

1993: Buddy and Joey Harris, whose mommies love them dearly despite everything, attempt to remain upright at the Beat Farmers 10th Anniversary show.

1994: Promo pic for the "Dive Bar Casanovas" album; the last gasp of Buddy's hairline.

1997: "Greasy Jass"-era promo pic. "Play jazz; wear a stupid hat -- that's the law."

1997: Buddy and Muggles demonstrate their "doody-making" faces.

1997: Sweetlips Mysterioso hits a really, really high note; photo taken at precise moment his testicles explode.

1997: THE BUMP is about to become Mrs. Blue, the result of some very, very bad karma.

1998: Buddy, positively glowing with sensuality, dressed up as Romy Kaye for Halloween. The gentleman over his shoulder apparently dressed as Jerry Raney.

1998: You know, sometimes I really, really miss having Romy in the band.

1998: Tantalizing photo of Ginabilly about to smother a friend in cleavage. Don't you just love this part of the website?
